, High Priestess of Interactive Media
is a Direct and Interactive Marketing Media & Merchandising Professor at
the Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York. Her
professional background includes over 25 years as a Luxury Goods Buyer at
Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Macy’s.com, Ann Taylor Stores, and MCM in
Germany. As a Senior Merchandising and Marketing Executive in the luxury retail
sector, Shawn maintained a strong track record of profitable growth and gross
margin goals based on successful strategic, analytical, and financial
disciplines within the corporate sector. She established multichannel retailing
platforms incorporating traditional retail stores, social media, e-Commerce,
direct mail, and television shopping for an elite customer base.
Shawn holds a BA in English and Women’s Studies from the
University of Virginia and an MFA in Museum Studies from the Fashion Institute
of Technology. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and
Jack and Jill of America. She is a past Board Member of the YMCA and the NJPAC
Woman’s Board in New Jersey.
Shawn is an avid reader and enjoys listening to jazz,
classical, and soul music. Her wonderful daughter, Lindsay attends Mount
Holyoke College. They enjoy their travels to Europe and the Caribbean when time
permits.
